Welcome to Amber Waves Music Publishing

Amber Waves Music Publishing was formed in 2003 as a publishing arm of the William Baker Choral Foundation. Designed to further the development of choral and vocal music in the United States, Amber Waves is dedicated to providing quality music for today's musician. As a part of the exciting expansion of the William Baker Choral Foundation, Amber Waves Music Publishing will provide a vast resource for the Choral Foundation and choral / vocal musicians around the world.

The William Baker Choral Foundation was founded in 1990 to support the conductor's teaching, guest conducting, consulting, and workshop appearances. Since its inception, the Choral Foundation has sponsored two Atlanta area ensembles, the 125-voice Summer Singers of Atlanta and the William Baker Festival Singers. The Choral Foundation expanded to Kansas City to support the creation of the Kansas City ensemble of the William Baker Festival Singers of in 1998 and the 125-voice Summer Singers of Kansas City in 1999. The Choral Foundation is a member of Chorus America, the Association of Professional Choruses, The American Choral Director's Association and the Music Educator's National Conference.

The Choral Foundation has undergone a significant expansion as the William Baker Festival Singers became a year-round ensemble in both cities.  Newest members of the Choral Foundation include the Northside Young Singers, directed by Lynn Fowler, the Northside Festival Singers, directed by Don Brainerd, both located in the Atlanta area.  Dr. Baker is excited to offer this publishing company to the public, and it is their hope that these new pieces by exciting up-and-coming American composers are well-received by the choral / vocal music educators, conductors, and performers across the world.

We are constantly working to improve our website and including new features to improve the process of previewing and purchasing new choral music.  You can look forward to full reference recordings and viewable scores of our catalog, online purchasing of music, and downloads to your computer with license to print.

Please meet our new Editor-in-Chief, Don Brainerd.

Donald E. Brainerd is a well known singer, actor and director based in the metropolitan Atlanta area. After a distinguished career as a church musician and music educator, Don became involved in drama and music theater, leading him to create the TAC Theatre, a theatre company dedicated to the process of creating a unique theatre experience.

In addition to TAC Theatre and his private vocal and drama studio, Don has served on the staff of the William Baker Choral Foundation for three years as Vocal Coach for Atlanta area ensembles, and is the director of the Northside Festival Singers.

A gifted composer, arranger and editor, Don's background in many areas of musical leadership, and his entrepreneurial spirit have well-prepared him to take the helm of America's up and coming music publishing house, Amber Waves Music Publishing.
